Posting of workers to Croatia

Croatia, as a member of the European Union, is an attractive destination for companies planning to provide temporary services abroad. However, posting employees to Croatia requires meeting certain conditions and formalities under Croatian labor law.

Posting of workers to Croatia - the most important information

Polish companies can legally post workers to Croatia, provided they comply with EU rules and local regulations. Here are the most important rules:

  • Notification of posting – before starting work, the posting must be notified to the Croatian Ministry of Labor. This notification should include details of the employer, the employee, and details of where and when the work is to be performed
  • Employment conditions – a posted employee must be paid at least the minimum wage in effect in Croatia, as well as be provided with working conditions in accordance with
local law (concerning, for example, working hours, rest, vacations).
  • Accommodation – if the employer provides accommodation, it must meet minimum standards and be properly documented.
  • Documentation at the place of work – it is necessary to keep documents at the place of work, such as the employment contract, the A1 form, confirmation of payment of wages and notification of posting.

Posting of third-country nationals to Croatia

Non-EU workers can be posted to Croatia from Poland, as long as they have legal residence and employment in the territory of Poland. In addition, additional permits may be required to work in Croatia, especially for long-term posting or in case of inspections by authorities.
